Overwhelm

I see so many of us struggle with overwhelm from stress, anxiety, stimuli and information overload. Our senses are flooded, leaving us depleted and unable to make valuable decisions.

I created a tool for myself to see if I could alleviate some of the burden I felt for being highly sensitive. As I used this tool, I found that it allowed me to accept and advocate for myself at a much deeper level. I could actually visualize when overwhelm was happening, and what was yet to come. It allowed me to plan in ways that were simple and supportive in my day-to-day routines.

Senses

My tool is called a Sensory Forecast and I would love to create one with you.

This is not a tarot, oracle or any kind of reading, although those things can help you after your Sensory Forecast is created. It’s actually a chart you can fill out to see what stimuli affects your senses the most. All 15 of them. It’s your unique baseline in life depending on how your body reacts to stimuli.

The course takes one week with content releasing each day that will take about a 15-30 minutes for that day. We then have a 30-minute 1:1 video chat together to help you with any struggles and questions you may have. Your Sensory Forecast will start letting you see the world in a different way, a much more manageable way.

I am looking for overwhelmed HSPs to learn how to calm their overloaded senses so they can tackle their heart-centered work and make the best decisions for themselves. Think of this as the pre-work you do to clear the way from your dreams to come to life – from the moment you rise in the morning, to the moment you fall asleep. Are your senses feeling the call to join me?

About

Hi! I'm Katie Sanders, your Sensory Designer and friction problem-solver. It's a pleasure to meet you!

As a highly sensitive child, I didn't understand why I couldn't process as much sensory input as other kids. I was labeled as moody and shy, but it's only been later in life that I have found I am actually twice exceptional (2e). A blessing in disguise, this now allows me to understand my autistic son's needs very well.

After graduating with a degree in Web Design and Interactive Media, I worked in user experience and management for a variety of companies, from tech startups to print and photography studios. My specialty is assessing how colors, shapes, placement, elements and stimuli influence a user's behavior, on screen or off. Since launching my web design business in 2005, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, including award-winning bloggers, event producers, artists, retailers, authors and wellness providers.

My strengths as a mom of an autistic son swirl around designing systems that are easy for him to understand, providing easy wins and momentum. My design and project management backgrounds also lend curiosity about how systems can be improved.

At times I infuse the language of the elements into to my work as I find people can communicate their needs well when describing the sensations of earth, water, fire and air. Whether they are feeling too heavy, too light, too hot or cold, tempering the sensation with a counterbalanced element can help them feel more clear and calm.

My goal is to help you create brilliant support systems for yourself, without depleting your reserves.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

—Samantha

"She asks just the right questions to help understand your mission, but these questions also help organize your own thoughts and ideas. You'll leave the session feeling inspired and motivated.

—Shaunie

"I always tell my clients and friends how intuitive and easy you are to work with. While working together, there's always a point where I can almost hear the "click!" when all of the questions and ideas snap together in a way that I might not have considered before. During the process, I've always felt that my input was truly heard with all of my feelings considered. That's a big deal for creatives and since you are one, that familiarity shines through!"
—Marlo
